OUR BEAR AND WILDERNESS ADVENTURES
Katmai Sky Lodge is located on private property just minutes southwest of Brooks Lake, providing prime access to some of the best bear viewing opportunities in the world. Brooks Falls is only a few minutes away by flight, and we also have access to several smaller creeks and rivers that offer truly unique bear viewing and photography experiences.
Our guides have years of experience interacting with bears in their natural habitat, ensuring your complete safety and comfort so you can focus on capturing that "shot of a lifetime”.
Maximum 6 Guests
Katmai National Park is not only known for its prolific bear population; it is also home to 42 different species of mammals. On rare occasions, visitors may have the opportunity to see wolves, foxes, porcupines, moose, lynx, and park squirrels. Park rangers estimate that there are between 64 to over 100 species of birds that either call the park and preserve their home or pass through during their seasonal migrations. From the majestic bald eagle, which often builds nests within hiking distance from the lodge, to the diverse groups of ducks, shorebirds, and swans that frequent the lake in front of our lodge, the avian life here is truly remarkable.
