After years in the Fishing, Lodging and Alaskan tourism industry, this small group of friends have developed a deep and resounding respect for the wilderness as well as a love for sharing it. The Bristol Bay region is the only place left on the planet supporting the enormous wild salmon run which in turn supports every living thing in the area and beyond. We recognize the importance of educating the public on the value of the area through exposure and experience, we protect the things we love. We encourage you to join us in loving and by extension, protecting, this special and wild region of the earth.

Skylar and Chip Lamont are well known guides in Katmai as they have been exploring, guiding and flying in the region for over 8 years. Working closely with the Branham’s for years and guiding guests from around the world, they’ve heard what people are looking for; More freedom of program, and more secluded wilderness. Partnering with Alaska Bear Trips and the Sterns, with the guidance of the Branhams, this project became an incredible opportunity to create something special in this wild and pristine environment. Skylar and Chip welcome you as the both Owners and Hosts/Guides at Katmai Sky.

The Branham family has history in the Katmai region dating back before statehood. As pioneers in the remote lodging industry, then the luxury remote lodge industry, they’re known for pioneering the catch and release fishing with barbless hooks trend of the area, ensuring this wild and delicate ecosystem remain intact for generations to come. While Chris and Linda Branham are finally enjoying a well earned retirement, they’ve enjoyed consulting with the Sterns and Lamonts on this new adventure and look forward to watching it thrive.

Leanna and Isaac Stern began their Katmai journey with Chris and Linda Branham in 2016. (Skylar and Chip joined them all in 2017) While working at both of their remote lodges, in almost every capacity, the deep respect and admiration for the Katmai area was rooted. Upon The Branham’s retirement from the lodging world, the Stern’s entered into a new partnership creating; Alaska Bear Trips. The high demand for overnight accommodations became clear and after consulting with the Branham’s, the Sterns and Lamonts have partnered to create Katmai Sky Lodge and are excited to share a this new experience.
